The Cell Salts
The Biochemic System of Medicine maintains that 12 essential cell salts are vital to health and wellbeing. A deficiency of any one of these cell salts will result in deficiency symptoms and all disease is merely a manifestation of a deficiency of one or other of these cell salts.
The 12 cell salts are: * Calcium (phosphate, sulphate, fluoride) Best source CALCIUM CARBONATE tablets which provide all three calcium cell salts.
* Potassium (phosphate, sulphate, chloride) Best source CHELATED POTASSIUM tablets which provide all three potassium cell salts
* Sodium (phosphate, sulphate, chloride) Best source either homeopathic nat phos 6x, nat sulph 6x and nat mur 6x, or Blackmores Sodium compound for sodium phosphate & sulphate and homeopathic nat mur 6x
* Magnesium phosphate Best source homeopathic mag phos 6x
* Silica
Best source homeopathic silica 6x
* Iron phosphate
Best source homeopathic ferrum phos 6x

Where to obtain cell salts
* CALCIUM. There are lots of different type of calcium supplements available at chemist shops. Calcium carbonate are strong (up to 500mg in one tablet), easy to take and represent good value for money. Calcium citrate is another good source.
When buying calcium supplements look for "elemental calcium" which determines the strength. Read the label to find out "equivalent amount of elemental calcium", eg, 1250mg of calcium carbonate is equivalent of 500mg of elemental calcium.
Other forms of calcium are calcium gluconate and lactate which aren't so easily absorbed and are relatively weak - not recommended.
* MAGNESIUM phosphate, silica and sodium chloride (homeopathic nat mur 6x)
There is a homeopathic tablet called COMBINATION H which contains these 3 cell salts in the one tablet and represents good value for money - available from health shops.

Symptoms - Nature's Warning Signs & Keeping the System in Balance
Symptoms are the pointers which, if carefully noted, will indicate the remedy required -- they occur in a variety of forms such as pain, inflammation, swelling, discharges etc.
Cell salts are all about treating symptoms as they arise.
Various other cell salts play a part in cleaning the body and these are explained in The Biochemic Handbook.
Mineral cell salts are needed in differing amounts in the body. Calcium is needed the most, followed by potassium, sodium, magnesium, silica and iron.
* * * * *
When taking large amounts of calcium, deficiency symptoms will inevitably occur in other minerals. This is because calcium needs to be kept in balance with some other minerals. For example:
* Calcium needs to be kept in balance with magnesium,
* Potassium needs to be kept in balance with sodium, and
* All mineral cell salts with each other.
Symptoms are nature's warning signs that something is wrong and deficiency symptoms should be treated as they arise.
A list of deficiency symptoms and their associated remedies can be found in The Biochemic Handbook. Another source of this publication is:
